Inaugurated on the first day of the millennium, Rapa Plaza is a centrally air-conditioned, most modern multi-storied Shopping Mall at House # 400, Road # 27, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The complex is a six- plus two storied building with two basement floors, measuring a total built up area of around 100,000 sft. It is one of the most elegant shopping malls in the city. The mall became a household name in Bangladesh and coined the proverb “রাপা রাপাই!” Rapa is the first of its kinds of shopping mall in whole of South Asia at that time. It changed the shopping landscape in Bangladesh, when usually upscale shoppers used to go to Thailand and Singapore. It saved lots of foreign currency for Bangaldesh by attracting shoppers within the country. The mall has received many recognitions home and abroad. 

The shopping mall was inaugurated by Dr. S. A. Malek, the then political advisor and Mr. M. Anisuzzaman, Agriculture Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh along with many other dignitaries. 

Rapa Plaza was developed by A&M Properties, a joint venture collaboration between Mr. Golam Mostafa, Chairman, Deshbandhu Group and Mr. Aynul Haque, Chairman, Manama Development Limited.
